Pelvic Floor
What is pelvic floor health and why is it so important??
Your pelvic floor consists of bones, muscles, ligaments and fascia which form a sling supporting
the contents of your abdomen and pelvic organs. The muscles of your pelvic floor are
considered “postural” in nature and require a certain amount of tone to support the contents
within it. Your pelvic floor muscles are also part of your core muscles and play a key role in
communicating with the other muscles that make up the core.
Surgery, childbirth, menopause as well as other conditions can affect the strength of the pelvic
floor muscles causing low back pain, incontinence, & pelvic pain just to name a few.
Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles is not the only important factor in bladder health. Did you
know that what you eat or drink can affect bladder health? Behavioral patterns like how often
you use the bathroom can lead to bladder issues as well.
In this 6 week series you will learn exactly what your pelvic floor does and how to gain optimum
bladder health with exercise, diet, & behavioral changes.
This workshop is held for 6 weeks virtually from 12:00-1:00pm on Thursdays starting on September 30th, 2021. The cost is $30/week.
